Agritech startup Falca raises over $3 Mn in pre-Series A

Agritech startup Falca has raised over $3 million in pre-Series A round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from LetsVenture, Mumbai Angels among other HNIs.

The proceeds will be used in ramping up the services beyond the current geographies, acquiring talent for growth, and focusing on building tech infrastructure for the platform.

Led by Santosh Danegoudar, Falca is a rural agri-supply chain platform offering one stop farming solutions to small and marginal farmers by providing a range of services right from quality and authentic inputs to avail machinery on rent, market linkages and feasible storage solutions.

According to the Bengaluru-based startup, it is currently working with over 1,00,000 lakh farmers and helping them at every stage from testing the soil to selecting the right fertilizer for highest yield.  It also offers analytical support for free such as weather conditions, supply-demand gaps, market prices, and suitable harvest times.

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) has made over 75 investments including this round. Its portfolio includes early-stage startups such as Syook, Streak, Knorish, Otipy, Edvizo, MobiGarage, Hesa and PeAr Technologies among others.

The early-stage angel investing firm had launched Physis Capital, a $50 million AIF CAT II venture capital fund in March this year.
