Mumbai-based edtech startup Online Live Learning (OLL) has raised $115K (Rs 90 lacs) in its seed round of funding led by We Founder Circle. A set of angel investors such as Gaurav VK Singhvi, Neeraj Tyagi, Bhawna Bhatnagar, Sandeep Balaji, Rahul Hingmire also joined the round.
OLL plans to use the raised funds to scale the school and teacher network across India, and hiring more talents, said in a press release.
Founded by Shreyaan Daga and Koshika Mahajan, OLL acts as a marketplace which connects teachers with students in the genres such as coding, robotics, arts, language, life skills and over 100 more options. According to the company, it primarily targets grade one to ten with focus on tier 2 and 3 cities as the demand for skill developments are high in this age group.
Over the past few years, many startups have entered the soft skill development space but none (except White Hat Jr) has been able to scale it up to a meaningful scale. According to experts tracking the edtech sector, White Hat Jr got successful because it was an early mover in its segment and the pandemic which helped WhiteHat Jr to scale fast. The space for new players will be really tough but it seems there is an opportunity. Let’s see how OLL performs in the coming times.
