Mental wellness startup Lissun raises $1 Mn led by IvyCap

Mental and emotional healthcare startup Lissun has raised $1 million in a pre seed round led by IvyCap Ventures. We Founder Circle, Supermorpheous, Gaurav Munjal, Harsh Jain, Sandeep Aggarwal, Pavan Vaish, Sasi Kuppannagri, Pradeep  Paramesawaran, Vikas Bhadoria, Praveen Sinha and several others also have also joined the round.

The proceeds will be used to ramp up technology capabilities, partnerships and expand its operation in 25 cities and 5 new therapeutic areas, the company said in a press release.

Founded by Krishna Veer Singh and Tarun Gupta, Lissun helps people to identify mental health issues and cure them through therapy, counselling and mediation among others. It largely focuses on three areas: stress, anxiety and depression. Currently, Lissun has health centres in Delhi, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Muzaffarnagar, Lucknow and Pune and 10 other cities.

Apart from its web, app and physical centres, Lissun partners with hospitals and wellness establishments for high-stress use cases such as infertility, rehabilitation, nephrology and oncology among others.

With the increasing cases of anxiety, stress and lifestyle issues, the demand for mental and emotional wellness has soared in the past few years, especially in the working population. According to a Deloitte survey, poor mental health costs Indian companies a combined $14 billion a year due to absenteeism, attrition and other reasons. To solve mental health problems, several companies such as Wysa, YourDost, mFine and many others have emerged, scaled and raised funds in the past few years. Wysa appears to have mopped up the largest round in the space including a $20 million Series B round.
