Gurugram-based chef provider ChefKart has raised $2 million in a seed round led by Pravega Ventures and Blume Ventures. Zomato’s co-founder Deepinder Goyal, Titan Capital, Kunal Shah, Tremis Capital, Lets Venture and others have also joined the funding round.

The proceeds will be deployed to launch subscription-based at-home cooking services in Gurugram and expand to other cities.

Founded by Vaibhav Gupta, Aman Gupta and Arpit Gupta in 2020, ChefKart is a marketplace that connects chefs and homes.

According to the company, it has served over 3,200 families and is managing over 2,300 cooking sessions daily with a 15% growth on a monthly basis. Chefkart also provides chefs for house parties for up to 25 people and its subscription plan starts at Rs 3,000. Besides unorganised service providers, it competes with the likes of Urban Company and a clutch of other online platforms.

As per a FICCI-PwC report, the Indian Food Services market is valued at Rs 5,52,000 crore in 2022, with the unorganised sector claiming over 57% of the market share. There is a huge demand for reliable cooking services.
