D2C online footwear brand Flatheads bags $1 Mn in pre-Series A round

D2C online brand Flatheads has raised $1 million in its pre-Series A round led by We Founder Circle and Dexter Angels. Marquee investors such as Gaurav Kapur of Oaktree Sports, Sahil Barua of Delhivery and Radhikha Ghai of ShopClues have also participated.

The funding proceeds will be used to expand its presence in the international markets and product differentiation, said Flatheads in a press release.

Started by MomoE founders Utkarsh Biradar and Ganesh Balakrishnan, Flatheads is a men’s casual footwear brand that designs all-day wear casual sneakers for discerning urban audiences. Flatheads claims to be the first Indian brand to introduce bamboo fibre shoes that are uniquely suited for the Indian tropical climate.

Start-up investment platform, We Founder Circle has made 16 investments including this round. Last week, it led a $500K bridge round in vernacular edtech platform Vidyakul.
