Sequoia’s Surge and Accel lead $5.2 Mn round in Powerplay

Construction management app Powerplay has raised $5.2 million in funding led by Accel Partners and Sequoia Capital’s accelerator program Surge. Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal and India Quotient also participated in the round.

According to the company, the fresh funds will be used in building its team and improving its product experience.

Founded by Iesh Dixit and Shubham Goyal, Powerplay simplifies site-to-office communication to manage construction and architectural projects. It simply enables project managers and workers to communicate and collaborate more effectively.

Available on Android and iOS, Powerplay’s features include progress tracking, attendance and material management, invoices, automated reporting, issue tracking, and budget management. Since its launch, the startup claims to have been used by over 10,000 contractors across 800 Indian cities.

The two-year-old startup is part of Surge’s fifth cohort of 23 companies that was announced last week.
