Funding in Indian startups this week (01 Feb-06 Feb)

This week 17 Indian startups raised funding, of which 14 received a total sum of about $320 million. Among them, Zetwerk raised the highest funding of about $120 million followed by MPL, which raised around $95 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 3 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

FPL Technologies: FPL Technologies, the makers of mobile-first credit card OneCard, has raised $25 million in its Series B round led by existing backer Sequoia Capital, allotting preference shares to three existing venture capitals and two individuals.

Newton School: Income sharing based online coding trainer platform Newton School has raised $5 million in its Series A round led by early-stage VC firm RTP Global. Nexus Ventures, AngelList along with seven individuals also participated in the round.

MPL: Mobile Premier League or MPL has scooped up $95 million in its Series D round led by Composite Capital and Moore Strategic Ventures with participation from Base Partners, RTP Global, SIG, Go-Ventures, Telstra Ventures, Founders circle and Play Ventures.

Zetwerk: B2B marketplace for custom manufacturing, Zetwerk has secured $120 million in its Series D round led by Greenoaks Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Koo: Microblogging app Koo has raised $4.1 million in Series A funding from existing investors Accel, Kalaari Capital, Blume Ventures and Dream Incubator, and participation from new investor 3one4 Capital.

Origo Commodities: Agriculture supply chain and trade finance startup Origo Commodities has announced raising $10.2 million of debt financing from Yes Bank.

SUGAR Cosmetics: Make-up brand SUGAR Cosmetics has raised $21 million in its Series C funding round led by Elevation Capital (formerly SAIF Partners).

MediBuddy: Digital healthcare platform MediBuddy has raised fresh $20 million to close its Series B round at $40 million.

Happilo: Healthy gourmet snacking brand, Happilo has raised $13.6 million from A91 Partners in its first external funding round, at an undisclosed valuation.

InnerHour: Mental health startup InnerHour has raised $5.2 million from Lightbox and others.

Hemp Horizons: Cannabis startup Hemp Horizons has raised $0.27 million as part of its seed funding round led by Mumbai Angels Network with participation from AngelList.

YourPhysio: Nagpur-based online physiotherapy and pain relief startup YourPhysio has raised a $0.35 million pre-seed round of funding led by Better Capital.

Remedico: Remedico, a healthtech startup focused on providing mobile telemedicine-based dermatology solutions, has raised a $0.54 million bridge round investment led by AWE (Achieving Women Equity) Funds.

GoToMobility: Delhi-based intercity transit platform GoToMobility has raised $0.15 million from ex-Uber finance head Jesse Lucas, at a valuation of around $11 million.
