Funding in Indian startups this week (23 Nov-28 Nov)

This week 24 Indian startups raised funding, of which 15 received a total sum of about $339 million. Among them, Cars24 raised the highest funding of about $200 million followed by Cashfree, which raised $35.3 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 9 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Cars24: Online used car marketplace Cars24 has entered the club of unicorns with a $200 million worth Series E round led by DST Global. Existing backer Exor Seeds, Moore Strategic Ventures and Unbound also participated in the latest round.

Cityflo: Intra-city bus commute startup Cityflo has raised $8 million in its Series A funding round led by Lightbox Ventures. Existing investor India Quotient also participated in the round.

Cashfree: Payment gateway startup Cashfree has scooped up $35.3 million in its Series B round led by London-based private equity fund Apis Partners’ Apis Growth Fund II. Existing investors Y combinator and Smilegate Investments also took part in the round.

Country Delight: Direct-to-consumer dairy brand Country Delight has raised $25 million in a Series C round led by Elevation Capital (previously SAIF Partners). Existing backers Matrix Partners, Orios Venture Partners and IIFL PE Fund also participated.

Plum: Vegan beauty company Plum has raised $15 million in its Series B round led by Faering Capital. Plum’s existing investors include Unilever Ventures.

Shipsy: SaaS platform Shipsy has raised $6 million in a funding round co-led by Sequoia Capital India’s Surge and existing investor Info Edge.

GeoIQ: Location intelligence startup GeoIQ has raised $0.33 million from 9Unicorns venture capital fund, IPV, Kayenne and LetsVenture among others.

Pravasirojgar: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s initiative for blue-collar job workers Pravasirojgar has raised $33 million from Temasek’s GoodWorker.

SignalX: AI-powered risk management and compliance startup SignalX has raised $0.9 million in its first round of funding from 9Unicorns and others.

Purplle: Beauty e-commerce platform Purplle has raised $1 million from Spring Marketing Capital.

Yellow Class: Edtech startup Yellow Class has raised $1.3 million in Pre-Series A round led by India Quotient.

ERPNext: Opensource enterprise resource planning software ERPNext has raised $1.3 million from Rainmatter, a fintech incubator backed by Zerodha.

Dailyhunt: A platform which aggregates news and local language content has raised an additional $10 million in primary capital from B Capital Group.

STAGE: Hyperlocal over-the-top (OTT) platform STAGE has raised $1.15 million in a funding round led by startup incubator and accelerator Venture Catalysts.

Kaagaz Scanner: Document scanning and storage app Kaagaz Scanner has raised $0.57 million led by Pravega Ventures. Axilor Ventures, Better Capital and a few angel investors also participated.

Undisclosed deals this week

Unacademy, Nykaa, Grip Invest, Power Gummies, Astrogate Labs, AlgoBulls, Awign, LightSpeedAI Labs and Omatra Hotels did not disclose their financial details.
