Profitable bootstrapped software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform FusionCharts has been acquired by US-based business software platform Idera Inc for an undisclosed sum.

As a part of the acquisition, the Kolkata and Bengaluru-based platform, which provides JavaScript charting components and tools, will become part of Idera’s developer tools business unit.

Idera will further use FusionCharts products for offering more app development options to hundreds of thousands of developers.

FusionCharts mainly helps developers build user-friendly, visually appealing dashboards for web and mobile project. Its product portfolio includes FusionCharts Suite XT, FusionTime, and FusionExport charting libraries that offer over 100 interactive charts and more than 2,000 data-driven maps.

“Data visualization plays a critical role in today’s software products. FusionCharts helps developers convert data into engaging visualizations with minimal effort and learning required,” said Kegan Blumenthal, Idera’s general manager of FusionCharts, Sencha, and Froala in a blog post.

Pallav Nadhani, who founded FusionCharts in 2002, has been one of the poster-boys for the majority of local startups for building a long-lasting venture making a profit from a very early stage. He has also been an active angel investor for many years.

FusionCharts claims to have over 80 percent of its client base from Fortune 500 companies including Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, Intel and several others.

This is the second acquisition for Idera inc in India in less than a year. It had acquired the Rohit Nadhani-led database management tool maker Webyog data, a pure-play bootstrapped venture based out of Bengaluru, in an all-cash deal last April.
