Verification of identity ( PAN, Aadhaar, driving licence et al.) is a cumbersome and expensive task as we don’t have an instant tool to do so. When it comes to identity verification of maid, driver and other individual or family use cases, we tend to rely on agency verification and submitted documents.
To weed out this pain, HR Tech platform Springworks has launched a WhatsApp-based employee verification product for users to instantly verify someone’s identity and ascertain whether it is a valid ID or fake.
Springwork’s SpringVerify (link), as the product is called, will help even get the criminal and court records of a user. The tool integrates with WhatsApp API and lets users share a picture of any personal identification documents such as Pan Card, or Driving Licence, Aadhaar Card or Voter ID Card.
The user can share a picture or selfie of the ID holder and the tool will match that with the picture on the ID. It can also verify the selfie of a user and tell whether it matches with the ID or not.
For every check, the company is charging Rs 49 from the users. “The main reason we’ve built SpringVerify on WhatsApp is to help you solidify trust with your house helpers,” said Kartik Mandaville, CEO and Founder of Springworks through a press statement.
Post verification, the tool also gives certification with complete address. Started as SpringRole, it rebranded as Springworks recently. The company claims to have a B2B-focused Employee Background Verification service with over 150 clients including Cred, Instamojo, Apolo and Prestige.
For the security of the data, the scans of the ID are deleted within 72 hours. In the next few days, it plans to launch services that will do ‘Continuous Crime Monitoring’.
First few users of the product found it useful. However, few of them complain of not finding digital court record. The company clarified that the product will show only digitize court record.
