Funding in Indian startups this week (10 Feb-15 Feb)

This week 20 Indian startups raised funding, of which 16 received a total sum of about $148 million. Among them, Pepperfry raised the highest funding of about $40 million followed by MoEngage, which raised $25 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Simsim: Social commerce platform Simsim has secured around $8 million in a Series B funding round led by its existing investors including China-based Shunwei Capital and Accel Partners.

Vedantu: Edtech startup Vedantu has raised $24 million in extended Series C round led by GGV Capital along with existing backers. About six months ago, Vedantu kicked off Series C round led by Tiger Global and Westbridge Capital.

MoEngage: Customer analytics and cross-channel engagement platform, MoEngage has raised $25 million in Series C funding round led by Eight Roads Ventures with participation from F-Prime Capital, Matrix Partners India and Ventureast.

Furlenco: Online furniture rental firm Furlenco has secured $2.25 million as a part of Series C equity funding round from existing investor, Dabur family’s asset management firm Chowdry Associates, at an estimated valuation of Rs 692 crore.

Chaayos: Tea cafe chain startup Chaayos has secured $21.5 million in a mix of equity and debt funding round led by Silicon Valley-based Think Investments. The latest investment round saw the participation of existing investors, including SAIF Partners and Tiger Global.

Pepperfry: Furniture retailer Pepperfry has secured $40 million in a Series F round led by adhesives manufacturing company Pidilite Industries. Existing investors Goldman Sachs, Norwest Venture Partners, Bertelsmann India and State Street Advisors also participated in the round.

Clover: Bengaluru-based greenhouse agritech startup Clover has secured $5.5 million in a funding round from Omnivore, Accel, and Mayfield.

Coding Ninjas: Online education company Coding Ninjas has secured $5.1 million in a Series A funding round led by InfoEdge.

Classplus: Edtech startup Classplus has bagged $2.5 million in a pre-Series A round led by Blume Ventures and Sequoia Capital India’s accelerator program Surge.

PetPooja: Business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform Udaan has invested $2 million in Ahmedabad-based restaurant billing platform PetPooja.

Yap: Banking and payment products-focused API platform Yap has raised $1.4 million in in angel funding led by Amrish Rau, Kunal Shah, and Jitendra Gupta.

Innoviti: Bengaluru-based payments solution firm Innoviti has raised $5 million in debt funding from FMO, the Dutch development bank.

Hempstreet: Cannabis research-to-retail venture, Hempstreet has raised $1 million in its pre-Series A round led by Pharmacon Holdings, with participation from Romain Barberis.

BigBasket: B2B arm of BigBasket has raised $3.5 million in debt funding from Trifecta Capital.

Brick&Bolt: Real-estate startup Brick&Bolt has raised $1.5 million in Pre-Series A round led by Sequoia India’s rapid scale-up programme Surge.

Oga: Bengaluru-based fitness startup Oga has raised $0.3 million from Inflection Point Ventures.

Undisclosed deals this week

CamCom, Altor, Friyey and HooLiv did not disclose their financial details on funding.
