Funding in Indian startups this week (29 July-03 Aug)

This week 14 Indian startups received funding, of which 13 received a total sum of about $325 million. Among them, Rebel Foods raised the highest funding of $125 million followed by UrbanClap which raised $75 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 1 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

UrbanClap: Home service marketplace UrbanClap has raked in $75 million in Series E round led by New York-based hedge fund Tiger Global. Existing investors Steadview Capital and Vy Capital also participated.

Rebel Foods: Online multi-restaurant cloud kitchen chain Rebel Foods, that owns popular brands like Faasos, OvenStory, Behrouz Biryani, Lunch Box, Mandarin Oak among other has scooped up a staggering $125 million round from several large investors.

BigBasket: Online grocery major BigBasket has picked up $14.4 million debt from Trifecta Capital. This is the largest cheques for BigBasket from the Gurugram-based debt provider. In 2017, Trifecta poured in Rs 45 crore in March and a modest Rs 4 crore in October.

Progcap: Fintech startup Progcap, which facilitates debt capital for underserved micro and small businesses, has raised an investment of $5 million led by Sequoia India.

Aye Finance: Micro financial service provider Aye Finance has scooped up an investment of $7.9 million from DCB Bank by issuing debt funds syndicated by Vivriti Capital.

CarDekho: New and used cars auto portal CarDekho has received around $20 million as a part of its $110 million Series C round that kicked off in January this year.

MyPetrolPump: India’s first-ever door-to-door fuel delivery startup, MyPetrolPump has raised $1.6 million in a seed funding round.

Vymo: Sales assistant startup Vymo has scooped up $18 million fresh funding round led by Emergence Capital. Its existing investor Sequoia India also participated in the round.

MindTickle: Sales enablement and readiness platform MindTickle has scooped up $40 million fresh funding round led by US-based venture capital fund Norwest Venture Partners. Existing investors Accel Partners, Canaan Partners, New View Capital, and Qualcomm Ventures also participated in the round.

MyScoot: Delhi- based  MyScoot scooped up $1.7 million in a seed funding round from Lightspeed India Partners, Venture Highway, and Mayfield India. Angel Investors such as  Kunal Shah, CEO of CRED, and Maninder Gulati of OYO also participated in the round.

Pocket Aces: Mumbai- based digital entertainment startup Pocket Aces has raised fresh funding of $14.7 million from Sequoia Capital, DSP Group, 3one4 Capital and others.

GoHive: Coworking services provider GoHive has raised $0.36 million from angel investors in a pre-Series A round from undisclosed investors.

Veri5Digital: Digital Solutions Provider Veri5Digital has raised $2 million from California- based incubator Khosla Ventures in Series A round.
