Bhavish Aggarwal’s Ola has been talking about its plans to enhance mobility solutions since ages. Whenever there is talk around what Ola intends to do with its funding, or how is it planning to reach its goal of becoming a profitable company, one of the key points hovers around the focus on the enhancement of mobility solutions by bringing innovation to the function.
One concrete step that the company has taken in this direction is setting up of a new Advanced Technology Center in the San Francisco Bay area, the Silicon Valley. This is where Ola’s research, experiment and development of Ola’s next-generation mobility solutions is going to take place.
Silicon Valley, here, has been chosen as a strategic location to be able to invite over 150 top-notch professionals in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Sciences, Product Engineering and Development to work for the company and build world-class solutions that are expected to impact a billion people.
This is also bound to help Ola in its international expansion plans which might have been put to a stop to now, but are likely to come back on the plate since the company has invested a heavy amount for the same. Ola is already present in 150 cities across India, UK, and New Zealand. With this, the doors for Ola will indirectly open in the US and with people around the world working on Ola’s innovations, a global market recall will also be created, making it easier for Ola to capture more markets.
Ankit Bhati, CTO and co-founder of Ola said in the company blog, “The Advanced Technology Center will be the centre-point of transformative mobility technology in the time to come. We are committed to building world-class mobility innovations and look forward to working with people who are as passionate as we are about building mobility for a billion people.”
Two men with one plan, Aggarwal and Bhati, had recently picked up funding from Hyundai-Kea to power through this same plan of expanding its electric fleet and bringing innovation in mobility solutions. The Advanced Technology Center will the laboratory for infusing more R&D in electric mobility to see what more can be created out of this. Further, work on connected and autonomous vehicles is also a major part of product planning and testing.
