Healofy raises $10 Mn from Babytree, Omidyar and few Chinese investors

Parenting social network startup Healofy has raised around $10 million in its Series A round, making it one of the highest institutional rounds in this space.

Baby Tree- a Beijing based parenting platform has led the round with participation of Omidyar Network, BAce Capital and the founder of eBay.

In March 2018, the Bengaluru-based multilingual platform had secured $1 million seed fund from Omidyar Network.

With the fresh round, Healofy will step up its content systems, big data technology, and market access, reports Chinese media 36Kr.

Founded in October 2015 by Aggarwal and Shubham Maheshwari, Healofy is a peer-to-peer content platform of moms and moms-to-be Healofy attracts women around health and lifestyle in the form of user-generated content (UGC) and Q/As on pregnancy and parenting.

The app is available in 11 languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, and Tamil.

Healofy had earlier raised funds from Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal, Citrus Pay founder Jitendra Gupta and other Silicon Valley-based marquee investors in October 2017.

The startup was selected in Facebook’s ‘FBStart program’ and launched a WhatsApp Helpline by developing a smart assistant bot in 2016.

In the online community of moms, expectant parents, and doctors which works around the theme of pregnancy and parenting counts startups like Tinystep, Parenttune, Parentlane, Babychakra, Babygogo, and others.
