Following the #MeToo movement, where All India Bakchod (AIB) comedian Utsav Chakraborty was accused of sexual harassment, the company’s co-founder and one of the famous personalities in the stand-up comedy genre, Tanmay Bhat is stepping away from his position.
AIB has posted the confirmation on the microblogging site which clearly states that Bhat will be stepping away from his association with the company and he won’t be involved in any functionality of the company until further notice.
Besides Bhat, Gursimran Khamba– another co-founder has also been asked to step away. He was accused of mental harassment by an anonymous woman.
In the interim Ashish Shakya, Rohan Joshi and other senior members will take on the responsibility.

The development comes after Utsav’s alleged involvement in sexual harassment for sending sexually explicit messages to women, including minor girls. Bhat, who hasn’t released any official statement on stepping away yet, accepted that he knew about the Utsav’s scandal right from the beginning. He also made apologies to multiple handles on Twitter.
This is not the first time when Bhat is facing the wrath of his followers and non-followers. Last year an FIR was lodged against him over making the prime minister Modi’s meme. Earlier he was in controversy for mimicking Bharat Ratna awardees Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar.
Over the past one year, several startups’ founders have been accused of similar incidents. In June 2017, The Viral Fever (TVF) CEO Arunabh Kumar had quit his position following allegations of sexual misconduct.
Tech portal ScoopWhoop was also caught is itself in controversy when a former employee had filed an FIR alleging that she was subjected to sexual harassment at the workplace by the company’s co-founder Suparn Pandey.
