With an aim to enable building and sharing of solutions among technology developers in India, digital payment behemoth Paytm has launched ‘Indian Open Source Project Incubator’.
The incubator programme of Paytm is the part of ‘Paytm – Build for India’ initiative. The first batch of the incubator will run for 6 months starting January 1, 2018.
The programme will focus on designing solutions around education, digital lifestyle, financial inclusion and also new-age technologies, including machine learning, augmented reality and virtual reality.
The virtual incubator will be aimed at finding developers who can use technology and design to build world-class solutions.

The platform’s premises will facilitate mentoring sessions, hackathons, bootcamps and also technology and design support for the student community periodically.
Last month, India’s largest technology incubator T-Hub announced the launch of its first accelerator programme in collaboration with Microsoft. The three months long programme will be launched in February 2018.

T-Hub along with US-based aerospace giant Boeing also launched the ‘Boeing HorizonX India Innovation Challenge 1.0’, to tackle complex challenges in the areas of autonomous and unmanned systems, advanced manufacturing, industrial IOT and automation, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

Earlier this month, British carmaker MG Motor’s (Morris Garages) Indian arm MG Motor India has finalised 5 Indian startups under its innovation program, ‘MG Drives Innovation’ to bring additional synergies to its automotive business. The selected startups are CarIQ, Steradian Semi, Altigreen Propulsion Labs, Exploride, and Zuper.
