Flipkart who emerged as the winner of last month festival sale amongst major Indian e-commerce players is leaving no stone unturned to make it a killing once again. The Bengaluru-based e-tailer will host a 4 day Diwali sale starting October 14 and up until October 17 under its flagship – Big Diwali Sale.

According to Flipkart, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Lenovo K8 Plus, and Redmi 4A are the top three best selling devices on its site. Top three budget phones include Moto C Plus, Moto E4 Plus, and Samsung J7-6. In the premium smartphones category, Apple iPhone 6, Samsung S7, and iPhone 7 are the top three best sellers on the site.

There will be one flash sale held on every day of the Big Diwali Sale at 12pm, starting with the Panasonic Eluga Ray X, which will be available at Rs. 6,999 (down from Rs. 8,999).

The newly launched Honor 9i which was recently launched at Rs 17,999 will also go on sale for the first time on October 14 exclusively on Flipkart.

The exchange value on a users’ old phone put out by the site, will be deducted from the price of the new device that they’ll buy.

For example, if users wish to exchange their old Redmi Note 3 (Rs 3,050 exchange value) for a new Redmi Note 4 (4GB+64GB), then Rs 3,050 will be deducted from the original price of Redmi Note 4 (Rs 12,999), bringing down the effective cost of the smartphone to Rs 9,949.

Users can expect 10 percent ‘instant discount’ on HDFC credit and debit cards, while those using PhonePe for payments can expect 20 percent cashback (up to Rs. 200). Bajaj Finserv no-cost EMIs will be available on over 4 lakh phones.

As for the ongoing TV and Appliances sale, Flipkart is touting a minimum of 30 percent off on Sanyo TVs, up to 20 percent off on Sony TVs, up to 22 percent off on Vu TVs, and up to 40 percent off on Micromax TVs.

The Big Diwali Sale on Flipkart will also have up to 80 percent off on electronics of select brands, including exchange offers and no-cost EMI deals. No specific offers have been mentioned on this front as yet.

Industry estimates

Flipkart has been able to clinch the top position during last month sale, generating gross sales of more than Rs 5,000 crore, in comparison to Amazon India, which reportedly generated gross sales of Rs2,500-2,700 crore in its four-day Great Indian Festival sale last month.

Indian e-commerce companies sold $2.2 billion worth of goods in the 30-day festive period last year, and the total sales during this festival sale will grow 50 percent over last year, according to Redseer Consulting, which tracks e-commerce sales.

According to a recent report, e-tailers companies in India may sell more than Rs 20,000 crore ($3.3 billion) worth of goods during Diwali festive online sales, while Assocham says that online shoppers may splurge over Rs 30,000 crore on goods like mobile phones, electronic gadgets, consumer durables, apparel and home appliances during the festive season leading to Diwali.
