Delhi-based co-working startup Creator’s Gurukul has got an undisclosed amount of funding from consortium of investors. The startup was in news since its partnership with Indian cricket icon Yuvraj Singh.
The investors who took part in the deal include Rohit Nanda, a banker and equity investor, Rajit Nanda CIO of ACWA Power Dubai, Investor Smarak Bhuyan based out of the Bay area, California and Sashwat Brahma, an environmentalist based out of Singapore.
Earlier, Creator’s Gurukul had got an undisclosed amount of funding from Indian cricketer-cum-investor, who is also the brand ambassador of the company for the next four years.
Founded by Abhinav Tandon and Mohammed Sirajuddin in April 2017, Creator’s Gurukul has based its model on shared office space with a more productive work culture. The Gurugram-based centre will be the first with over 500 seats and it plans to set up two more in Mangalore and Delhi by the end of the year.
The firm is backed by high-net-worth individuals such as Shabir Momin (Singapore), Anubhav Kaul (Hongkong) and Jasmeet Singh. The team also includes industry veterans like Taranjeet Sapra, Vikas Sharma, K S Sirish , Vineet Tyagi , Surya Prakash and Ram Atri.
“We have received tremendous response for our venture so far because of the unique business model and right set of collaborations. This is quiet overwhelming for us to see the eminent of the society are keen to partner with us. We hope to leverage this opportunity to manifold and disrupt the market. The latest investment received further strengthens our confidence and brings a larger strength to the venture,” said Creator’s Gurukul, Co-founder, Mohammed Sirajuddin, reports ET.
Of late, co-working space in India has been over-crowded with several players competing for marketshare. Creator’s Gurukul competes with BHive, Innov8, Awfis, Innov8, 91Springboard and several other players in the space.
Earlier, New York-based coworking startup WeWork had entered the Indian market with the launch of “WeWork Galaxy”, a 2200 members co-working space, in Bengaluru. The co-working space giant also unveiled its second workspace in India – “WeWork BKC”, in Bandra Kurla Complex, in Mumbai.
