This week in Indian Startups funding news (Aug 07-11)

This week 16 startups received funding, out of which 10 were disclosed, who in total made a sum of $121.78 million. Among them Five Star raised highest investment $50 million, followed by Ola, which raised about $36 million.

Meanwhile, six out of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

List of disclosed funding deals this week

Five Star Business Finance Limited, specialised ticket business and housing loans, has raised fresh funds in its Series C round led by Norwest Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital.

Ola has raised $36 million (Rs 231 crore) from Tekne Private Ventures through the issue of preference shares. The SoftBank-funded company had allotted 171,173 fully and compulsorily convertible preference shares for a total consideration of Rs 231.44 crore, as per RoC filings by ANI Technologies.

Crofarm has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Factor[e] Ventures and angel investors – Rajan Anandan, Google India MD, and Jitendra Gupta, PayU India MD among others. The round was syndicated through LetsVenture.

EM3 AgriServices Pvt Ltd has raised $10 million in its series B round led by Global Innovation Fund, while existing investors Soros Development Fund and Aspada Investment also participated in it.

Myforexeye has raised pre-Series A funding of Rs 1.4 crore from a clutch of individual investors. The investment has been made by HNI’s (high net-worth individuals) and senior bankers from India and overseas.

Truxapp has received $3.1 million in pre-series A funding from a group of angel investors and family offices including The Dhoot Family of The Videocon Group; Sandeep Sharma Former MD, MENA of a large Global Bank; VC Bothra and Family who are owners of a large shipping company in Singapore; and Mandhian Family, a family office which invests mainly in Real Estate.

Bayir has raised $2.45 million in two rounds of B Series Funding to be allocated for future expansion of the business.

Azure Hospitality has secured $12 million from existing investors Goldman Sachs and Max Ventures to fuel growth plans in India and enter global markets, said a person familiar with the development.

Newcastle Technologies has raised $0243 million in seed funding from tech industry veterans based in India and abroad.

Chaitanya India Fin Credit, a non-banking financial institution has raised $7 million

Undisclosed deals this week

Co-living startup StayAbode, micro delivery platform Doodhwaala and mobile game development studio Moong Labs , did not disclose the funding amount.
