On-demand cab behemoth – Uber has launched its bike sharing services named uberMOTO in Noida and Ghaziabad.

The service aims to provide last-mile connectivity to riders in the National Capital Region (NCR). UberMoto is now available in seven cities which include Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

Cab aggregator claims that uberMoto will be one of the most affordable transportation options in the city, with fares as low as Rs.10. While the service is limited to certain parts of Noida and Ghaziabad for now, Uber looks to expand the service across more areas across India.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhjeet Singh, General manager, Delhi NCR & North India, Uber, said that uberMoto is a quick, easy and affordable way to get around the cities and Uber is thankful to the government for supporting this vision towards solving for mobility needs and creating economic opportunities.

With launch in Noida and Ghaziabad, we aim to give riders an opportunity to travel smartly across NCR without worrying about issues like traffic, congestion and last mile connectivity, he added. It is also celebrating its one year anniversary in India in July with over 2 million trips till date.

Over the years, Uber has launched many products like UberPAAS, UberEats, uberMoto and UberPool.

Last month, Uber had launched its food delivery service app UberEATS in the Delhi-NCR, starting with Gurugram. The uberEATS app has been built specifically to make food delivery as seamless as possible.

Last-mile personal transport is a major hassle in all metro cities in India. Existing commuting options like on-demand cab services don’t solve the problem of time wasted stuck in traffic and are as expensive as daily commute solutions.

Meanwhile, autorickshaws, the most affordable alternative, in most cities, do not follow the meter and commuters end up paying higher fares. In such scenario, bike taxi service like UberMoto appears as a viable option for commuters.
