Gurugarm based Roofpik, a real estate and broker review platform has acquired Shoppist in a cash and stock deal. Shoppist, a personalised product discovery platform, has confirmed the deal while keeping the amount undisclosed.

Divij Goyal, founder of Shoppist, will be joining the board as the new chief marketing officer (CMO).

"There's a clear gap in the real estate space that can be addressed by user-generated reviews ratings of properties and agents. I hope this acquisition will help build Roofpik into a bigger and a valuable brand for users," Goyal was quoted as saying by ET.

Based on NLP technology, Shoppist offers consumers to fetch the most relevant products based on their interest, personal profile and shopping history. The app is equipped with artificial intelligence and machine learning module to recommend products and keep you updated if there is any deal or discount applicable.

Post this acquisition Roofpik is supposed to have a significant impact on real estate space in terms of personalised property recommendation to its users, validate reviews and generate meaningful analytics from over 5,000 current users. So, it will be exciting to see how they retain and bring new customer to its platform.

Arpit Mittal, co-founder of Roofpik, said, "The Shoppist team brings a fresh boost of expertise to the core team of Roofpik. This acquisition will help us build a robust and experience-oriented product with the potency to give voice to the people in the real estate industry." Roofpik will also strengthen its core team and bring personalised property recommendations to its users, Mittal added.

In recent years, we have witnessed the trend of personalised shopping assistant apps raising funds, which shows a huge market and opportunities for others. Players like HeyBiz backed by Shopclues, Voodoo by SAIF partners and TheShoppingPro by Trvel Boutique Online have made it to the table.
