Funding in Indian startups this week (09 Dec-14 Dec)

This week 27 Indian startups raised funding, of which 23 received a total sum of about $250 million. Among them, HappyEasyGo raised the highest funding of about $49 million followed by Ecom Express, which raised $36 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Purplle: Mumbai-based Purplle has scored $30 million Series C round led by global investment banking major Goldman Sachs. Existing backers, IvyCap Ventures, Blume Ventures and JSW Ventures also participated in the financing round.

KredX: Invoice discounting platform KredX has raised $26 million in its Series B round led by Tiger Global Management, along with participation from existing investor, for a minority stake in the Bengaluru-based startup.

Zetwerk: Business-to-business platform for custom manufacturing, Zetwerk has raised $32 million in a Series B funding round from Lightspeed and Greenoaks Capital.

Observe.Ai: SaaS-based voice customer service enabler Observe.Ai has raised $26 million in a Series A round led by Scale Venture Partners. The second external round for the Indo-US startup also saw participation from Nexus Venture Partners, Steadview Capital, 01 Advisors, and Emergent Ventures.

Ecom Express: E-commerce-focused logistics solutions provider Ecom Express has raked in $36 million from CDC, a development finance institution wholly owned by the UK government.

truMe: IoT based global Identity and Access Management platform truMe has raised $0.14 million in a funding round from a US-based angel investor Rajan Kaistha.

Bombay Shirt Company: Apparel maker Bombay Shirt Company has raised $8 million in an equity funding round from Lightbox.

Ecozen: Pune-based agritech startup Ecozen has announced the closure of its Series A round at $6 million, after receiving $4 million from Innovation in Food & Agriculture Fund (IFA Fund) along with Caspian, Hivos-Triodos Fund and Omnivore also participated.

FableStreet: Premium workwear brand FableStreet has raised $3 million in a Series A funding round led by FireSide Ventures along with Pradeep Parameswaran, Dilip Khandelwal, and Suhail Sameer also participated.

Lawyered: Delhi-based legal tech startup Lawyered has raised $0.1 million from a list of marquee angel investors including Pramendra Tomar, Ratish Pandey, Munish Bhatia, and Sumit Aggarwal.

PiBeam: Micro-mobility electric vehicles startup PiBeam has raised $0.7 million in a bridge funding round from GAIL.

The Moms Co: Delhi-based mom and baby care consumer goods startup The Moms Co has raised $5 million in a Series B funding round from its existing investors – DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital.

m.Paani: Mumbai-based local retailer digitization startup m.Paani has raised $5.5 million in a Series A funding round led by AC Ventures, Kevin Aluwi, Candy Ventures, Ryu Suliawan, and Suvir Varma.

TapChief: Online platform for professionals to earn incomes without full-time job, TapChief has raised $1.5 million from Blume Ventures.

Slintel: Marketing intelligence startup Slintel has secured $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Stellaris Ventures along with Accel Partners, Anand Jagannathan, and Ashish Gupta also participated.

HappyEasyGo: Online travel platform HappyEasyGo has raised about $49.3 million in its Series B funding round from Korea Investment Partners (KIP), Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), UOB Venture, 10 Fund, CVCapital, Zero2IPO Ventures and M&S Partners.

Freightwalla: Digital freight forwarding startup Freightwalla has raised $4 million in Series A funding from Amplo, FJ Labs and Rogue One Capital. Existing investors Kae Capital and Tekton Ventures also participated.

Rein Games: Real money-based skill gaming startup, Rein Games has raised $0.7 million in a seed funding round led by Ranjan Pai’s Manipal Education and Medical Group, and Titan Capital.

Freshokartz: Jaipur-based agritech startup, Freshokartz, has raised $0.15 million in its pre-Series A round, from Innovana ThinkLab.

Lil’ Goodness: Children-focused food and nutrition startup, Lil’ Goodness and sCoolMeal has raised $0.4 million in seed funding from a clutch of investors.

eJOHRI: Omnichannel jewellery startup, eJOHRI has raised $1 million in a funding round from a clutch of investors led by Hong Kong-based Rajesh Ranavat.

Stanza Living: Student-focused co-living startup Stanza Living, has raised $5.7 million in venture debt from Alteria Capital.

Origo: Post-harvest supply-chain finance and logistics company, Origo has raised $6.8 million in funding from responsAbility, Oikocredit and IndusInd Bank.

Undisclosed deals this week

Ninjacart, Afinoz, Binca Games and Cubical Laboratories did not disclose their financial details on funding.
