Funding in Indian startups this week (26 Aug-31 Aug)

This week 15 Indian startups raised funding, of which 14 received a total sum of about $615 million. Among them, Udaan closed the highest funding of $300 million followed by Cred, which raised $120 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 1 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Udaan: B2B e-commerce marketplace cum lending platform, Udaan’s Singapore-based parent entity has raised about $300 million in the ongoing Series D round.

Vedantu: Tiger Global along with Westbridge Capital, has led $42 million round in edtech startup Vedantu. Existing investors Accel, Omidyar India and TAL Education and Vedantu co-founders also participating in the Series C round.

FreshToHome: Online platform for fresh meat and seafood, FreshToHome, has raised $20 million from Iron Pillar and Joe Hirao in its Series B round of funding.

Cred: Ten months old fintech firm Cred has closed $120 million Series B round led by Ribbit Capital and Gemini Investments. This is the second institutional round for the Bengaluru-based company. Last year, Sequoia had led a $30 million round in Cred.

ChargeBee: Subscription management platform ChargeBee has raised $14 million in its Series D funding round led by Steadview Capital. Existing investors Insight Venture Partners and Accel also participated in the round.

Tracxn: Startup intelligence and market research platform, Tracxn, has raised $3 million in a fresh round from KG Global Platform Fund.

Dunzo: Hyperlocal delivery platform Dunzo has raised close to $3 million in debt from Alteria Capital.

Rentomojo: Online furniture and consumer durable leasing platform Rentomojo is raising $4 million as a part of Series C funding round led by Samsung’s venture capital arm Samsung Venture Investments Corporation (SVIC).

Rapido: Bike taxi startup, Rapido, has scooped up $56 million Series B round led by WestBridge Capital.

BharatPe: QR code-based payment app BharatPe has closed its series B funding round at $50 million. US-based Ribbit Capital led the round while Steadview Capital has joined as the new investor.

LenDenClub: Peer-to-peer lending startup LenDenClub has raised $1 million in a pre-series A round led by its existing venture Artha Venture Fund. Transworld Group, angel investors- Shuchi Kothari, and Ramakant Sharma among others also participated in the round.

Advantage Club: HRtech startup Advantage Club has raised $1 million pre-series A funding round led by GrowX Ventures along with Sprout Venture Partners. Existing investors -Axilor Ventures and Mumbai Angels also participated in the round.

Fitternity: Fitness discovery and booking startup Fitternity has raised an additional $1 million in its Series A funding round from Sixth Sense Ventures and others.

Innovcare Lifesciences: Mumbai-based healthtech startup Innovcare Lifesciences has raised $6.4 million from JM Financial Private Equity Fund II.

Undisclosed deals this week

Fintech startup Recko did not disclose its financial details on funding.
