US President Donald Trump’s daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump met Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at UN General Assembly session and discussed women entrepreneurship and workforce development in the two countries.

“We had a great discussion on women’s entrepreneurship, the upcoming #GES2017 and workforce development in the US and India,” Ivanka said in a tweet after the meeting.

In another tweet, she also expressed her respect for Swaraj and described her as the “charismatic” foreign minister.

Ivanka will lead American delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in India in November.

India and the US will co-host the GES in Hyderabad from November 28 to 30. The GES is the preeminent annual gathering of emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from around the world.

The theme of the summit will be ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’, highlighting the critical role women play in fostering global growth and prosperity.

Indian govt pushes women entrepreneurship

Indian government is also serious about promoting women entrepreneurship in the country. It has introduced various schemes for women entrepreneurs.

Annapurna Scheme, Stree Shakti Package, Bhartiya Mahila Bank Business Loan, Dena Shakti scheme, Udyogini Scheme, Cent Kalyani Scheme, Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme, Mudra Yojna Scheme and Orient Mahila Vikas Yojana are some of the schemes.

A few months ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded the contribution of women of the nation towards the development of the country and said that they have potential and are getting better day by day.
